*Legal Services of Eastern Missouri is trying to get the word out to tornado-affected residents about an urgent
deadline relating to SNAP benefits (food stamps). SNAP recipients who lost power during the storm and had their food spoil as a result can request replacement SNAP benefits to purchase new food, but they only have 10 days left from the date of the event (or Monday, May 26) to make the request. Legal Services is encouraging anyone eligible to fill out this request form through the MO Department of Social Services as soon as possible.
https://formsportal.mo.gov/content/forms/af/moa/my-dss/family-support-division/im-110-replacement-request/im-110-replacement-request/.html*In the wake of the devastating events of May 16th, HESTL (House Everyone STL) has partnered with Think Big! and Purina to make an initial $50,000 in grants available to community partners able to provide emergency sheltering services. The IRIFIP and grant applications are attached; we will be reviewing them on a rolling basis and dispersing them as quickly as possible. As with other funding opportunities, HESTL has had, these funds are provided up front, on a non-reimbursement basis. Thank you for all the incredibly hard work you do and have done to save lives. Please contact Melissa Johnson with any questions (melissa.johnson@h ouseeveryon esti.org).
