*St. Peter will host the 171st Session of the Missouri Annual Conference in October. We need everyone’s participation to ensure the conference is a success. Rev.Cornelius has asked all church auxiliaries to purchase an ad. Please inform Sis. Jacquie Young, if you want to take your photo on Sunday, July 27th or August 10th. Please contact businesses, organizations, family and friends, and encourage them to purchase an ad. Be sure to visit the website to download the
ad contract and volunteer form, and for additional conference information. Remember, all monies raised from the Souvenir Journal will stay with St. Peter! Summary:
Executive Order 85 instructs the city counselor and the building commissioner to waive enforcement of claims under the holdback ordinance against property owners in the impact area pertaining to the May 16 tornado until the end of 2026.
FEMA Application
St. Louis residents who were impacted by the May 16 tornado are now eligible to apply for federal disaster assistance. The deadline to apply for individual financial assistance from FEMA is August 11.
Summary:
FEMA disaster assistance can provide: Money to help with basic home repairs
Money if it is not safe to live in your home because of the tornado
Money if you need Rental Assistance
Money to help replace personal property that was destroyed
Money for disaster-caused child care expenses
Money for medical, dental and funeral expenses related to the disaster

Disaster Assistance Center: The City of St. Louis is opening a Disaster Assistance Center (DAC) to serve as a central space for tornado-affected residents to connect with agencies offering guidance, resources, and assistance related to recovery and long-term support. The center will be open June 9-12, June 16-18, and June 23-26.
Resources and services available at DAC will include vaccines, emotional support, mental health care, legal assistance, job programs, and more. Insurance consumer specialists from the Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance will assist residents with understanding their insurance policies and navigating the claim process.

*Legal Services of Eastern Missouri is trying to get the word out to tornado-affected residents about an urgent
deadline relating to SNAP benefits (food stamps). SNAP recipients who lost power during the storm and had their food spoil as a result can request replacement SNAP benefits to purchase new food, but they only have 10 days left from the date of the event (or Monday, May 26) to make the request. Legal Services is encouraging anyone eligible to fill out this request form through the MO Department of Social Services as soon as possible.
